Yamaha YFL-517 Professional Flute

Yamaha's new professional lineup was inspired by our handmade gold and silver flutes, and the models in this series share many of the same design features and specifications-including the same scale and headjoints as our Type4 handmade models. Created with the expertise we gained in producing our handmade models, and crafted with uncompromising quality, these are serious professional grade instruments. The headjoint is very important in determining the sound of a flute. Yamaha 500 Series Flutes feature, at a very affordable price, a 92.5% pure sterling silver headjoint with a body and foot of nickel silver for a dark warm tone.

EC Headjoint
All Professional series flutes come with the EC headjoint, which features high chimney walls and a unique undercut designed to perfectly complement the Type 4 scale. The EC is characterized by tonal resonance and a comfortable, natural-feeling playability.

New Scale
The unique Type 4 Scale gives you accurately centered notes, with the optimum amount of air resistance for tonal flexibility. These flutes do not create a tone for you; they give you the freedom to color your own sound.

High Quality Pads
Yamaha's pads resist dehydration or swellimg, while the double bladder covering helps ensure perfect seating. All Professional flutes are carefully seasoned for long-lasting adjustment.

Key design
The keys are hand-assembled and meticulously balanced for a perfect touch. And the key shapes have been so exquisitely designed and ergonomically placed that the flute will almost 'disappear' in your hands. Performances will feel effortlessly natural.
