The Thermo Aged process Ibanez uses for the AVD11 is also known as torrefaction. This process essentially bakes the tonewood at a high temperature, drying any residual water left in the wood as well as eliminating any leftover resin. Even the spruce X-bracing on the AVC11 has been torrefied, providing great support, another layer of resonant tone, and a full-bodied low end with even sustain in the treble strings — signature features of vintage guitars.
