Tama introduces a new member in the Starclassic family
Tama says goodbye to the Starclassic Performer Bubinga / Birch and makes way for a brand new hybrid concept, the Starclassic Walnut / Birch.
The Starclassic Walnut / Birch drums from Tama take the basic design of the famous Starclassic Maple series and give it a cool twist. The shells of these drums consist of the combination of softer birch wood and slightly stiffer walnut. This results in an extremely dynamic sound that characterizes the characteristic warmth of birch shells, which is then perfectly complemented by the heavier attack of the layers of walnut. In addition, the Starclassic Walnut / Birch is built with all the outstanding hardware that distinguishes the Starclassic series. This includes the die-cast hoops from Tama, the Star-Cast mounting system and Quick-Lock tom brackets, and each shell is equipped with high quality Evans heads.
Remarkable new kit in the S.L.P-series
Tama sometimes dares to color outside the lines a bit with their S.L.P series. In 2019 they take it one step further with the introduction of the S.L.P Big Black Kit.
This limited Big Black Steel kit has 1 mm thick steel shells and is modeled after Tama's very popular S.L.P. Big Black snare drum. By using steel shells Tama has made a very powerful and loud drum, the ideal choice for drummers who have to cut through the overwhelming roar of dominating guitar amplification. Remarkable is that the character of this classic configuration (16 "x22" BD, 9 "x13" Tom, 16 "x16" FT) is still extremely warm and fat. The drums cut through the mix with ease, but do so with a rich and warm timbre
The matt black drumshell finish in combination with the shimmering black nickel hardware gives this kit a unique and very cool look. The Tama HTS58F tom stand for mounting the 9 "x13" tom is included. This SLP kit is limited for 2019 production.
