Tanglewood introduces the Crossroads series, a set of guitars completely based on that amazing raw blues sound from the 30´s. In those days guitars weren´t made to look fancy, so no nice finishes and no inlays. They had to be reliable and functional. The quality of those guitars were far superior compared to a lot of modern day standards and were passed on through generations.
To achieve the same level of quality the people of Tanglewood asked masterluthier Michael Sanden for help, the man behind Tanglewood Masterdesign. Michael selects all of his woods carefully and knows exactly which woodcombinations are needed to give the right results. He wanted to build a guitar that every musician, be it professional or amateur, could appreciate.

Quality that can be both heard and seen
Don't let the initial plan of Tanglewood to build guitars that are mostly just reliable and precise fool you. With this set they actually did also pay a lot of attention to the exterior of the instruments. The top is made of high quality spruce, while the back and sides are made of beautiful mahogany. This combination of woods guarantees a warm and full sounding guitar that reacts just the way you expect to your playing. On top of that, this model comes with a very nice Whiskey Barrel Burst Satin finish. As the name suggests, this finish was based on the old whiskey barrels of the last century.

The Orchestra model
Gererally these models are considered to be the most all-round design. Good for both players who like to strum a lot and players who like to fingerpick.
