De originele PRS SE SOAPBAR werd alleen in 2004 gemaakt (het werd niet langer gebruikt vanwege juridische stappen). Het was een massief mahonie, single-cutaway gitaar met een 22-fret, brede mahonie hals en twee soapbar-pickups. Verkrijgbaar in de afwerkingen rood en tabak sunburst. Alle juridische problemen werden echter snel opgelost en PRS bracht het SE SOAPBAR II-model uit.
