A confirmed classic ever since its arrival in 1961, SGs of various types have been played by Pete Townshend, Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi, Frank Zappa, Robby Krieger, Angus Young, Derek Trucks, Jeff Tweedy, and countless other rock, blues and alternative artists. While the SG Standard's original specs included a pair of humbucking pickups, many players have always loved the hot, raw sound of single-coil P-90 pickups, as found on the SG Special and Junior guitars, which otherwise had more austere features. Now Gibson USA introduces the SG Standard With P-90s, which features all the appointments of the Standard model, but is equipped with a pair of authentic P-90 pickups. Finished in your choice of Heritage Cherry or Ebony Black—both in hand-sprayed, high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer—the SG Standard With P-90s brings together the features and electronics of two legendary SG models for the first time, and creates a timeless classic in the process.

Designed to 'shake up' Gibson line of solid body electrics the Moderne prototype took a back seat to the Explorer and Flying V which were designed at the same time. The first few prototypes are considered by some collectors to be the holy grail of vitnage guitars. Fast forward to 2012 and the Moderne is back! And judging by peoples reactions at NAMM 2012 it's going to ruffle just as many feathers now as it did back then! The truth is that radical new designs are far and few between in the guitar industry even today so the 2012 Gibson Moderne comes as a breath of fresh air. The 2012 Moderne features all Mahogany body and neck with Rosewood fingerboard and dual '57 Classic humbuckers. Finished in Trans Amber to match the original prototype, it comes in an original Gibson hardshell case.

 Gibson Custom Paul Kossoff… Paul Kossoff had a unique take on the blues-rock movement, exhibited particularly in the masterful vibrato that helped to give his Les Paul a huge, dynamic voice—and the 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard on which he achieved such heights is known to be one of greatest sounding ’Bursts ever made. Since Paul’s death in 1976, this coveted guitar has remained in the possession of Arthur Ramm, Paul’s close personal friend. Now, in cooperation with the Kossoff estate, Gibson Custom has gained access to this incredible Les Paul in order to painstakingly recreate it in strictly limited numbers. Digitally scanned, measured and tested in England by Gibson Custom, this rare piece of musical history has been documented in intimate detail in order to recreate as closely as possible the tone, look and feel of the guitar in its current condition, as Paul left it when he passed away. The result, presented by Gibson Custom in the form of the Paul Kossoff 1959 Les Paul Standard, will be reproduced as just 100 hand-aged guitars, and a further 250 guitars treated with Gibson’s proprietary VOS process.
