Featuring a reverse grain dual-laminate rosewood fingerboard, a deep, rich chocolate finish (inspired by the color of Maduro broadleaf, used In the making of fine cigars) and the proven performance of one of our most popular guitars, the new Les Paul Custom Rosewood Moduro Brown Edition is a subtle twist on some of the mainstay Gibson Custom elements. While it is very much in line with the expectations borne by our team as the makers of the world's finest guitars, it is also the result of the challenge created by the current limits within the global supply of ebony, the traditional Les Paul Custom fingerboard material. This guitar represents a long path of alternative wood testing, deep query amongst our global player base and a great deal of soul searching. Tradition is sometimes hard to break. And sometimes the most obvious solution evades us as we strive to evolve, adapt and persevere. The suggestion to feature rosewood fingerboards on a guitar that has always been built using ebony fingerboards came from the most important members of our R&D team; our customers. For that reason, we are very proud to bring you this fine instrument. It is both a great guitar and a marker in time. This version with Gibson VOS treatment features nickel hardware, and comes with Gibson Custom hardshell case.

 Gibson ES335 Dot Reissue Fi… History speaks for itself. The ES-335 is one of the most important guitars of all time. Right from its introduction in 1958 as the world’s first semi-hollowbody electric guitar it has been a mainstay of players eager to balance the gorgeous, round, mellow tones perfect for jazz and blues with the edge and sustain of a full-blooded solidbody. Today the Gibson Custom Shop creates exacting duplicates of the ES-335 as it first left the Kalamazoo plant in 1958. That year just 267 were built, but the original vintage 335s grew steadily in popularity, peaking in 1967 thanks largely to Eric Clapton’s high-profile use of a cherry ES-335 in the band Cream.
