Gibson ES137 Classic Ebony
Not every Gibson guitar traces its heritage back to the so-called "Golden Years" of American Guitars, which is widely accepted to be most of the 1950s and into the 1960s. The Gibson Custom ES-137 semi-hollowbody electric is a perfect example. Gibson never built any instrument quite like this until recently. It clearly combines two distinctive influences: the look of Gibson's single cutaway, semi-hollowbodies and the hot sound of a Les Paul Classic. Is it a blues guitar? A rock guitar? Or perhaps a jazz guitar? The answer is, it's all of these. With a curly maple semi-hollow body and a mahogany centerblock it can play clean jazz or fusion lines, but crank your amp to "11" and the ES-137 semi-hollowbody screams just like a Les Paul. Hardshell case included.

Gibson Chris Cornell ES-335… Known for his singing, songwriting, and guitar playing with groundbreaking Seattle grungers Soundgarden as well as his solo work and his contribution to later bands like Audioslave and Temple Of The Dog, Chris Cornell has been a major creative force in alternative music since the mid 1980s. In addition to his powerful four-octave vocal range, Cornell is a distinguished guitarist, and has long shown a love of Gibson electrics with some alternative twists. The Chris Cornell ES-335 from Gibson’s Memphis division captures Cornell-certified looks and appointments in a great new ES-335 built with full Gibson quality and tradition behind it. The legendary and original thinline semi-hollow electric is given a clever tweak with a pair of Jason Lollar™ Lollartron® pickups, for that fat-but-jangly late ’50s to early ’60s humbucker-fired twang that fuels Chris Cornell’s tone. Your choice of an Olive Drab Green or Flat Black finish in nitrocellulose lacquer, with a Bigsby™ vibrato option on the former, extends the individuality of this unique artist’s model. From its superbly original tones to its stunningly distinctive looks, the Chris Cornell ES-335 is a powerful new performer from Gibson Memphis. The Chris Cornell ES-335 is constructed in the image of the original “dot neck” 335s of the late 1950s, with a semi-hollow body made from laminated maple with a bound top and back and a solid maple center block. The result is the perfect marriage of the traditional archtop’s looks and sonic depth, and the solidbody’s sustain and resistance to feedback. The neck is made from solid mahogany, and topped with a bound fingerboard made from hand-selected rosewood, inlaid with simple pearloid dot position markers, while the headstock carries a mother-of-pearl Gibson logo and crown inlay. While continuing in the ES-335’s humbucker tradition, the Chris Cornell ES-335 departs from the norm with a pair of Jason Lollar™ Lollartrons®, made in the style of the original Filter’Tron® humbuckers of the late ’50s and early ’60s for a distinctively twangy tone, but sized for a Gibson PAF-style humbucker mounting. The result is plenty of tonal depth and warmth from the semi-hollow design, but with a new clarity and crispness from the Lollartron® pickups, with excellent hum rejection. The pickups are routed through the traditional three-way switch and individual volume and tone controls and topped with clear knobs for a distinctive look. The Flat Black model carries Gibson’s legendary Tune-o-matic bridge with aluminum stopbar tailpiece, and there’s a Bigsby™ option on the Olive Drab Green model. Both renditions are equipped with high-quality Grover™ Rotomatic® tuners. All hardware is treated to Gibson’s proprietary VOS process for a gently aged vintage look. Every Chris Cornell ES-335 comes protected in a black leatherette hardshell case with plush charcoal lining, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity and owner’s manual.

Gibson Midtown Standard P90… By merging the best attributes of Gibson's legendary solidbody and archtop electric guitars, the Midtown Standard and Midtown Custom of 2011 became instant hits with players of all stripes. Now Gibson USA taps those same irresistible qualities and adds a vintage-vibed twist to create a stunning new performer: the Midtown Standard P-90. This great new guitar maintains its predecessors' trimmed-down and more player-friendly body size that still emulates the lines of Gibson's classic archtops, but which is built with the Midtown line's advanced chambered, solid-wood construction (rather than laminated top and back) to truly embody the optimum marriage of solidbody and archtop. To take the Midtown Standard P-90 anywhere from raw vintage rock, blues and funk to contemporary jazz, Americana, or whatever you want to throw at it, Gibson USA loads the guitar with a pair of fat- and rich-sounding P-90 single-coil pickups, and dresses it all in a hand-sprayed, high-gloss nitrocellulose finish in your choice of Fireburst, Vintage Sunburst, Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Wine Red or Pelham Blue. Hardshell case included.

Duesenberg Fullerton Hollow… Hollow thinline guitars deliver a unique, open sound that lies somewhere between Beat, Blues and Jazz. Well known Beatles songs are unthinkable without these guitars, and Blues and Jazz players often prefer this type of guitar because of its comfortable handling and the livelier sound quality. This version of a thin, hollow guitar construction is also one of the more successful German guitar designs since the Fifties! And because the Domino P90-type pickups develop both a rough and a warm character of sound that suits these guitars perfectly, each instrument in the Fullerton Hollow Series comes loaded with two of them.

Duesenberg Starplayer TV Cu… The theme of Black & Gold in guitar history seemed to be occupied forever, just like the name Black Beauty ... but in 2012, the Starplayer TV Custom moved into the center of attention everywhere in guitar world and ensured amazed eyes. The deep black finish is indeed a magnificent presentation area for the gold hardware, and the lush pickup configuration of three Duesenberg D-Tron humbuckers extends the Duesenberg soundscapes to an exciting new level. Instead of the rather inflexible circuit of other guitars with three humbuckers the TV sports the Duesenberg Custom Multi-Tone potentiometer that dials in the middle D-Tron on request, which makes a wide array of six different sounds. These sounds cover the whole spectrum from Clean to Crunch to Rock - but always with a certain charm and chime, as never has been heard before.

Gibson Les Paul 50s Tribute… Gibson USA is celebrating 2013 as the Year of Les Paul, and is blowing it up big with a new series of decade-dedicated Tribute Les Pauls, each of which honors the artistry and innovation of inventor and guitarist Les Paul by capturing the essence of a great Les Paul guitar from one of four different eras. All embody the full magic of this legendary guitar design, but are stripped down for improved value and no-nonsense performance. The Les Paul ’50s Tribute nails the look, feel, and tone of the set-neck, single-cutaway solidbody that started it all—the original Les Paul Model of the early to mid 1950s. Like the first Les Paul guitars, the Les Paul ’50s Tribute carries a pair of screaming P-90 pickups, the fat Gibson single-coil that has been beloved for more than six decades, along with the comfortably rounded neck profile characteristic of that decade. A step up to Gibson’s most acclaimed hardware set improves playability and offers precise tuning and intonation. And, like all Les Paul and SG 2013 Tribute Series guitars, the Les Paul ’50s Tribute is available upgraded with Min-ETune™ automated “robot” tuners for a nominal upcharge. The Les Paul ’50s Tribute looks great in your choice of Vintage Sunburst, Wine Red, Ebony Black, or Goldtop finish, all in Vintage Gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. Just like the greatest Les Paul Standards ever made, the Les Paul ’50s Tribute starts with the classic tonewood combination of a mahogany body with solid carved maple top. When paired, these woods offer a tonal depth and complexity unmatched by any single-wood construction, with warmth and richness from the mahogany, and superb clarity and “snap” from the maple. The mahogany back is strategically weight relieved to both lighten your load and improve resonance. A solid mahogany neck is glued into the body in Gibson’s time-tested tradition, and carved to a comfortably rounded ‘50s profile that measures .818” at the 1st fret and .963” at the 12th. It is topped with a genuine rosewood fingerboard that carries 22 medium-jumbo frets and traditional trapezoid inlays. In keeping with the stripped-down ethos of this powerful performer, both body and ’board remain unbound, and there’s no pickguard to obscure the finish. A PLEK-cut nut made from black Corian™ subtly complements the black top-hat knobs with silver inserts, while enhancing resonance and sustain. The traditional back-angled headstock is silkscreened with a gold Gibson logo and Les Paul Model. The Les Paul ’50s Tribute takes its firepower from a pair of P-90 pickups, some of the most revered tone machines in Gibson history. The P-90s currently made by Gibson USA adhere strictly to the vintage formula, which includes genuine Alnico V bar magnets and coils wound with 42-AWG enamel-coated wire for all the growl, snarl, and articulation that has made the originals legendary. The traditional wiring complement of an independent volume and tone control per pickup plus a three-way toggle selector switch allows a broad range of sonic variations. To anchor it all down, Gibson USA loads in a Tune-o-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece, with a set of genuine Grover™ kidney button tuners, a hardware set that partners up for solid sustain and precision tuning. Put it all together, and the Les Paul ’50s Tribute presents the perfect celebration of Les Paul’s genius and achievement, wrapping it into a great guitar that brings the look, feel, and sound of the first generation of Les Pauls to the hands of players of today. Each guitar includes a black Gibson premium gigbag, owner’s manual, and truss-rod wrench.

Gibson Les Paul 56 Goldtop… Gibson’s introduction of the Les Paul model in 1952 laid the template by which all other electric guitars would be measured, but it would still undergo several key modifications before developing into the iconic version widely known today as the Les Paul Standard. One of the most significant changes to the Les Paul model was the addition of the new Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece in 1956, replacing the trapeze and wraparound tailpieces that had adorned earlier versions. The Goldtop models proved instantly popular with a growing legion of electric blues players, most notably B.B. King, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, and Tiger Haynes, and today is one of the most revered and copied pieces of guitar hardware ever developed. The VOS treatment means it has the Vintage Original Specs!
